Acquis will join hundreds of senior industry leaders at the upcoming Lease Europe annual convention in Cascais, Portugal on the 6th and 7th October 2022. While the event itself promises to be an excellent experience, taking the time to explore and travel nearby is an opportunity not to be missed.
Located just 40 minutes from Lisbon, Cascais has a long history as the summer playground for Portuguese nobility, with many sights and attractions fused with its renowned heritage and local fishing town charm.
Boasting cooler autumn temperatures and fewer crowds than the tourist-packed summers, Cascais is a wonderful destination in October. All the main attractions are within walking distance, making it a hassle-free and stress-busting experience.
Here is our guide to the top four things to do whilst in Cascais for Leaseurope.
- Catch the sunset at Boca do Inferno. A 20-minute walk from the Marina along the coastal road will take you to the Boca do Inferno, where you will find uniquely weathered cliffs shaped by powerful Atlantic waves. Boca is an area often associated with beautiful sunsets.
- Walk around the old town. Cascais’ terrain is flat so getting around on foot is simple. Wandering around the Old Town will reveal a history steeped in Roman, Visigoth and Islamic-inspired architecture, as well as traditional Portuguese buildings.
- Take a relaxing stroll on the Estoril Promenade, which shows off grand 19th-century mansions and beachfront restaurants and bars.
- Enjoy the local cuisine. After breathing in the refreshing sea air, why not accompany your morning coffee with some delicious pastéis de nata from Nata Lisboa, or enjoy an evening glass of vinho verde at 111 Vinhos Cascais?
