Acquis and AFPA Trust have recently teamed up to support a charity which works diligently to rescue children from the streets of Iringa in Tanzania, providing them with food, shelter, and an education.

Like countless other charities this year, Street Children Iringa’s annual income from fundraising has been decimated by the Global pandemic, which forced the cancellation of their biggest annual fundraiser ball in London. Thankfully, Acquis and AFPA Trust’s joint efforts are injecting an absolutely vital cash lifeline, which will enable this charity to continue its work in creating a sustainable future for these children.

AFPA Trust, previously known as the Asset Finance Professionals Association, is itself a registered charity whose members and friends help it raise money for good causes, both in the UK and internationally. The Trust www.afpatrust.com hosts networking events which improve connections in and around the Asset Finance, Leasing and Lending sector. AFPA Trust’s donation of £3250 to Street Children Iringa, which has been matched by Acquis, will provide food and also an education and a safer environment to over 50 children who would otherwise go without.

Charity CEO and founder, Letty McMaster, explained what this will mean to the charity she heads up and the positive impact it will have on the children it supports: “In these very difficult times, this is a vital donation for our charity. It will help towards securing the future of the home and the safe house, for a further year. We are really grateful to AFPA Trust and Acquis for their continued support of Street Children Iringa.”

Stephen Bassett, Chair of APFA Trust commented: ”Due to the various pandemic restrictions, this year is proving a very difficult time for any organisations dependent on, or involved in fund raising, so it is all the more gratifying that we are still able, alongside Acquis, to help Street Children Iringa in such a significant way this year and just when they really need it. All our own members and sponsors have every reason to be extremely proud of the impact their connection with AFPA Trust will have on Street Children of Iringa.“
